Good Morning Jobcasers and Happy Monday!

As you set about your day hunting for work, do not fall victim to the "Urgent Loan" scam. (see attached image)

This seems highly suspicious.

  1. No credit check for a loan of up to 1 million dollars?!?!?!
  2. Referring to taking out crippling debt as a dream come true?
  3. Targeting a job forum where people are out of work and in desperate need of money is shady at best. How do you expect people to pay back these loans if they aren't working?
  4. An internet search for "Eric Franklin" along with that phone number returns zero results. You would think a big time financier would have a web presence and a toll-free number, or at the least, a number that shows up in a web search.
  5. The email domain "financier.com" is registered by World Media Group, LLC, a "domain squatter" who registers single word domains like "lawyer.com", "actors.com", and "financier.com". This is not indicative of a legit business.
  6. Root verb confusion (have vs. has) among other grammatical errors indicate that this poster is not a native speaker of the English language. While in itself this is not an indicator of questionable conduct, when mixed with everything else, it does paint a clearer picture.

This post has been reported and I encourage no one in the Jobcase community to respond to this person or "apply" for a loan through "Eric Franklin".

Please continue to be safe and vigilant. Sadly, on EVERY job board you will find scammers who are attempting to separate you from your hard earned money. As enticing as a loan might be to help you in your time of financial need, this is not the way to go about getting one. Even if it was legitimate, which it is not, you do not need to amass debt with no way to pay it off.

Be good to one another, have each others backs. Together we can prevent people from taking advantage of our community.

Hi Anthony, Are these direct email contacts? Is there a national Do Not Email/Block Email registration list protected by federal law email account holders can add their info to avoid falling into these scams. Too many good people out there struggling to get by that can fall easily fall prey to these predators. Would you have any info? Curious, does something like this even exists? Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up, Anthony! I'm on the case. Jobcase is not a platform for giving or receiving loans or for "get rich quick" schemes. If you see any of these pop up in the community, please stay away from them!
