Pain Management

As a cashier/sales/ customer service associate my job requires me to stand and walk around the store throughout my whole shift. I gained a little weight in between jobs and my feet have been killing me ever since I started working again. I’ve tried wearing anything comfortable I could manage to get away with wearing at work shy of walking around barefoot and nothing has helped relieve the pain. I’m dedicating big portion of my next check to finding a solution. Any good shoe or insole suggestions for a female retail worker? Thanks.

When I started back to work after school I ended up with the same issues and thought my god what's wrong with me..............more water intake more potassium and I have found that adding shock insoles with an additional heel lift work wonders. Also freeze a few bottles at night to roll your feet on it works wonders.

SAS shoes, they are the best. They are about 100, but worth every penny!

Try buying you some shoes made for nurses. Nursemates or get you some good arch supports. Support stocking may help also.

The suggestions for exercises and supplements are fine, but if you don't have good support for your feet, it won't solve the problem and your whole body will be affected by an insufficient shoe. Forget cute shoes and go for support and comfort.

Have you tried supplements for the pain? Gaba 500 mg twice a day.

You should walk out the cramps then soak / rub out knots I have found when you stand and do not do a lot of bending action with your feet they cramp

  1. Make sure you have a mat to stand on at work when standing still 2.panty hose/circulation stockings -- not to tight
  2. Bend flex joints of ankle and toes while standing 4.good light shoes with correct In soles I like the Wal-Mart measured ones in the pharmacy And of course if you can lose the weight Good luck

I work on my feet as well. My best solution has been sketchers work shoes. They are a bit expensive but worth every penny. I've been using this type for 5 years and can't go back to anything else, they are that comfy. I have all kinds of issues with feet and knees and these are the best. Great support and cushioning. Good luck finding your best option. I purchased online directly from sketchers.

Hi Joanne, Not sure if you've tried them, but I LOVE Crocs! They have so many cute styles. Definitely follow the sizing info the give you. They don't carry half sizes for most so they will let you know where you should go up or down to the next closest whole size. I've usually always gone down, but on the couple I just recently got, probably should've followed the info and gone up. They even have a work specific line!!
