Is there any point in applying to a month-old job posting?
I started my job search on January 19. I came across an opportunity online and the post was almost one month old. The description was a perfect match with my work history and regardless how old the post was published, I didn't hesitate in sending my resume. Two or three weeks later, I got a call from the recruiter asking me about my availability for a phone interview. We had the standard phone interview and a few days later, he contacted me again because he wanted to move forward and make arrangements for a second phone interview with the hiring manager. On February 19 - exactly one month later after sending my resume, I had one hour call will this hiring manager and she said that I would hear something about her decision after two days. I had no call back from her. After the fourth day, I sent an email to her asking for an update and she told me that the HR would contact me for a personal interview. After several days and no communication, finally, I got the email from the HR with additional information for my face to face interview. (Meanwhile, the dates between my submission on January 5th and the beginning of March, the same job was posted as "NEW") My F2F interview occurred on March 5 and everything went well and the Director said that I would be a good fit and that he would be in touch. On the following day, I sent a "Thank You" email to him for the opportunity given. (It is a must send a "Thank You" email after your interview). After one week and nothing from the company, I decided to send an email to the first recruiter who contacted me initially. He replied and he said everything was positive: From the hiring manager who interviewed me on the phone and from the Director who interviewed me in his office and he scheduled a new phone call with me. We had the phone call on March 14 saying the company has accepted me for the position and today, March 16, almost TWO MONTHS after sending my resume, I got the formal job offer. The bottom line is: Regardless how old the job post is or even after your submission, you see the post again as "NEW", you must ignore it. Don't think "This post is too old and probably they have found a candidate". Believe in yourself. You never know what's going on and you should just take a chance and apply. If it is still online because they have not found anyone yet. Good Luck everyone.

An awesome success story! An old cliche - you'll never know 'til you try. So true in your case, and thanks for sharing!

Congrats!

Wow it's good you hung in there, congrats!!! I would suggest for anyone else seeking a job to ALWAYS keep looking until you're hired. A job can easily change their mind, string you along, or stop responding. It's sad, but can happen. So stay positive and keep at it.
Those are not good news,(Pressure and Happiness) both have different meaning,(Peace of advise) never be positive with such Offers you will end up in sorrows
