I had an interview for a part time Front Desk Office Assistant.....it went well
During the interview....the hours were 9:30am to 2:30pm M-F and they needed someone as soon as this upcoming week. Then I received a call offering me the position but stating that the hours would be 1pm to 6pm and that they will wait 2 weeks for the background check. I am feeling weird about how information is being changed before they can even consider me. I also feel nervous about the fact that I will need a second job because its not enough hours and I am not sure how flexible I will be able to be. I will continue to look for full time.Apart of me feel like they hired someone else but want to see how well they do before they make them permanent.

An organized and reputable employer would definitely know the correct hour's for the position they are trying to fill. I wouldn't trust them if that's how they are being and you havent even started working. Keep looking for that full time job it's bound to come, before you know it, you'll land it. Best of luck to you.

Thank you for the info. I am more than likely way overqualified for this job and the pay is probably not what I'm expecting. Good luck!

I had something similar on a recent interview, at the interview the position was full time. Then it just switched to he is hiring part time in the meantime and if it doesn’t work out he will definitely reach out to me.

I recently went for a job interview at lincare. Interview went well. She told me I had the job.she told me it would take 3 weeks to check background.i have called later that week. She then told me that head office took away position in Vermont.the. Very next day I look at job postings and saw job being posting up again. I call lincare left a message and never called back.i also turned down 3 jobs that were paying more than this one.. I don’t know what games she is playing. But it is very say that did that to me

I had a similar experience where the job I interviewed for wasn't the job I was offered. The company was upfront about it and said I didn't get the position but had something that might be a better fit. That position was only temporary with possibility to go permanent.
I took it and it was hired full time permanent 5 months later. I stayed with the company for 12 years and was promoted twice. They even encouraged me to continue my education and I got my Bachelor's degree. They offered some tuition reimbursement too.
You never know where an opportunity may lead. Research the company and consider all aspects. If it's a good fit for you then give it a shot and do your best. Just never compromise if it will put you in a bind somehow. Good luck.

Well honestly beginning and then decided that they need a part-time person that means they have already hired someone else as that full-time person if you can afford to hold off and continue your job search I would recommend that are you can become a notary signing agent but I would not accept that at our age we need all the money we can get you working two jobs is hold you down and you don't need that at this time of your life

Hang in there... Sending you good vibes

If you are given the job take it and wait for the background check to come back and take the hours that they give you because then you can look for a morning time job and while you work if you want just a full time job while your working look for one and while you are waiting for background be looking for a full-time job but take the job cause now jobs are hard to come by but if they changed their mind there is something better in store for you because for me I'm looking for a day, night, and go to school for my bachelor's so you can do it hang in there there is a job just for you with your name name on it, keep your head up.

Why would they do that? Thats really fishy, i wouldnt trust them
Where was the job
