As I read Melanie's post it sounded somewhat like my story. However, there is a difference (other than gender). I am a 60 year old ex-felon, who has since July of 2015 attempted to get it right. I do not ask for anyone's sympathy or a handout; I want to work. I want to handle my business the right way. I spent 24 years in prison, and I'm not going to tell the lie that I was innocent. Nor will I bore anyone with the idea that I came to know God once in prison. That would be easier than to admit I knew Him prior to that. I am a teacher (Biblical) by calling and a preacher by vocation, and though I realize my past may keep me from pastoring a church, I only want a job where I can utilize my office skills and show SOMEBODY that major mistakes of the past do not define one's future. I Know God has His hand on me and I am waiting on Him. There is no other way. Those of you who know Him can help me best by praying for and with me.
