My work as a pharmacist.
I have been a Pharmacy Director for over 35 years. I got a new boss and he wanted to replace me with his choice of director. The Pharmacy was run very well and was given a very good review by The Joint Commision and DNV.

So sad how we work so hard and I am sure you do work very hard just to be overlooked for somebody else. It makes us feel like it is no use fighting anymore. But hold your head up. You know what you are!

Its a story that repeats itself over and over . Loyalty is dead . It's all greed related he can replace you with someone that will get half the pay and can be abused . I would recommend try to get the best severance package you can and move on . Even if you get to stay I am sure he will make your life miserable and you will end up leaving on your own . Good luck !!!

I was taught if it's not broke don't fix it

This really sounds like Ageism and like they are trying to boot out someone that is well over 50+ yrs of age, and this my friend is illegal. More than likely, you could run circles around these new pups with your knowledge, because you've seen, done it and heard about it already. I'd consider taking up age discrimination suit against these people. I'm figuring you probably first got out of college and all the schooling for a pharmacy training to be a pharmacist when you were close to 25 and then add 35 yrs so it would make you close to 60 yrs. old. I'll say one thing as I'm in the same age group myself, and our work ethic is far superior than what I've seen in the "20 and 30 somethings". It kind of fell off around the 40 yr. age mark. If you can prove it, go for it because it's so very illegal. If your license is up to date, and there's no problem with it and you've gotten the good reviews by the Joint Commission rub it under their noses. It only strengthens your case in my mind. I sure hope with your experience that you are the Pharmacy Manager or the Head of the Pharmacy Dept. I'm going to guess by the way you are talking here that you maybe in a hospital setting, as I'm aware the Joint Commission generally inspects hospitals. I had studied Registered Health Information Technology and I'm also an LPN. I'm also 60yrs old and having a rough time trying to find work. I don't look my age either, and many people take me to be in my early 50's. To me, that's what this sounds like. Retire when you're ready to hang it up or when your when physically you just can't do it any longer. I've known pharmacists who have come out of retirement, to help out a neighborhood pharmacy and they are in their in their late 70's and just love to be around people again and the part time work to pick up a little extra cash. As they say - a mind is a terrible thing to waste. I want to see you win this one. I really believe this is all about age discrimination. If you can afford it, see an attorney who specializes in discrimination. Best of luck!

U r so nice

One day your the best snd the next they replace you like you never mattered smh # business

I want to get into the pharmacy business as a tech . i know i have to study hard though. Sorry to hear that but at least you have the experience.

Did he replace you or were you able to keep your job?

If you know that you are better than best , go fight for your job in his face let him know how important it is that you keep your job, I mean , think of how your family sees you as a provider and look at your Years of experience. Pray for it before you go to work, it will change how things are worked out for you. It will work out in your favor.
That is a shame. I have been watching tv and reading the papers. I have found that new heads of state as well as top of heads of business like bring thier own people. I don’t like the system but there it is
