I'm 13, can I work on here?
Hi, I'm 13 and I need to earn money for my family desperately. During this COVID pandemic, we haven't been able to earn enough to sustain ourselves well. Can I work on here yet? My parents have allowed me to work on here. #teenager

Good luck with your efforts. I wish my boyfriends 17 year old was as determined and ambitious as you. I think Mr. Harrington is correct, look in your community for those odd jobs and look to your community churches, etc. if in need of food, clothing etc. Your parents should be so proud of you. I also at the same time agree with Kara Higgins, don't be afraid to have your parents help you in this process and do not take any job offers without your parents knowing about it as you are a sitting duck from people that are not nice and have bad intentions. I'm an adult, and get people trying to take advantage of me so definitely not safe for you Isabella.

Legally, it varies state to state and you will probably need to get your parents to sign a form. When I was 13 I made all of my money baby-sitting and doing odd jobs for people in my community - neighbors, family friends, extended family, people at my church - especially the elderly who couldn't do as much as they used to. May not pay enough to fully help your family but that is their responsibility to figure out. My parents didn't make a lot so I used my earnings to buy the extras that they couldn't afford except for certain occasions - designer clothes, make-up, my phone bill, evenings out with friends.

Hi Isabelle, I’m happy that you want to work but it’s not a good age to work at 13 because it’s time for you to focus on your education. If you really need money than do small jobs like helping neighbors, babysitting or just simple chores. Maybe when your older you can work but for now do simple things:)

I don’t think that it’s a great idea that you are sharing your age and that you are looking for a job. You are very young and an untrusted individual could easily take advantage of your situation!!!! Please delete and ask your parents how you can help and let them assist you so they know you are safe! #nurse #copdaughter

Get good grades that will free up time.

At 16 you can get work permit for part time. Right now just stay safe is best way to help parents. Possibly you c a n cut grass for neighbors rake leaves. Pretty illegal for you to work for three more years.

Good job, Paul. Finally see a teenager aggressively striving to earn something through hard work, and someone like you discourages her and advises her to suck off the government. Lousy liberals like you who always want something for nothing. Work on, Isabella.Paul's not going to send you a check.

I'm 13, Can I work on here? Well first of all... You know that you should be waiting to return to school. That being said... Whom ever the principal home keeper my be, you all should qualify for the COVID relief package because you are displaced from school and hopefully through no fault of your own other than the shutdown. Your principal parent that's providing care for you has to apply. (Please see"who qualifies for Covid-19 Relief", and follow the instructions.

Proud of the 13-year-old
Isabella, how are things going?
