Presently unemployed
I've been a stay at home mom for the last 18 yrs. besides a few part time jobs. I'm 50 yrs old but just to prove my soon to be ex-husband, that I could get a job at Victoria Secret, which I did and was top credit card sales every month , while employed with them. I must say that my forte' is sales/ management. I have experience in AR/AP, Fitness Instructor/ Sales Mgmt. Collections for Medical companies, Highend Homebuilding sales of all Millwork needs on site. You name it and I have done it. Even Hotel Desk Clerk @ the first Radison Suite Hotel in Huntsville, Al. I just am not sure where to begin. Going through a divorce after 23 yrs. and not working has really put a strain on my life and not up to date with today's technology : (

Hi Juliana, Welcome to Jobcase! I'm sorry to hear of what you're going through right now. I know that can't be easy for anyone in your family. I did do a quick search in your area and found some sales jobs if you're interested. Take a look and you can apply for any you like.
You can also search for other jobs in your area by using the following steps: 1.Click on “Jobs & Companies” at the top of the page 2.Enter a job into the search field that says “Position” 3.Click on the blue button to search for that position in your area 4.Once the list is up, click on the title of any you are interested in to apply. Let me know if you need anymore help!
Hi Juliana, I'm sorry to hear about your divorce. It stinks (to put it mildly!) - regardless if "it's for the best" ("best" for whom?!) - and throws your whole life upside down for a while. Good news is that it's temporary - you WILL move forward and ARE taking a great first-step by asking for help.
As for 'where to begin' - I checked out your profile and it looks great! I didn't see Victoria's Secret on there, so I'd encourage you to put ALL of your experience on your profile - especially if you were the top sales person. (As an employer, I'd LOVE to see that!) You've been active in the job market, even though you describe yourself as stay-at-home, so DON'T discount that experience.
To move forward, use the Jobs & Companies tab at the top of your screen. You can search by position, location and/or company. This will give you a great list of positions in your area. Go ahead and click on the one you're interested in and apply! (Tip: Make sure you edit your profile/resume for formatting issues by clicking on the "My Info" tab in the upper right corner of your profile page. At the bottom of the screen, you can click on "Generate Resume PDF" and that will show you what your profile looks like as an 'official' resume.)
Then make sure to follow up with a call/email/visit to show your interest. You can track all of your activity on this site. And please keep in mind: it can take a WHILE to find the right job, so KEEP GOING!! Check back in with the Community at Jobcase to let us know what's working/not working ~ helping each other is what keeps our community going.
Thanks for being part of Jobcase & hope to hear from you soon! Marijoy
