Should I??
I started working for Toys R Us practically right out of high school and it's the only job I have had other than some part-time landscaping work with my bother in law. I am thinking now with the closing I should go to college. It's time to get my ass in gear! I have some money saved, but it might be tough without a job. I want to go full time. What do you guys think? Is college even worth it these days? I miss my co-worker, Sandy, she always gave the best advice.

I am looking for a part time job so I can take care of my mom and kids

Go to college or technical school , just do not choose a general field! ( Management n Marketing)Something in demand

be sure to dign up for unemployment right away while you decide

Toys r us went out of business sued

Start out part-time and see how it goes. Do something and not just talk about it

Kevin Tennil: Look back on your Toys R US experience, and figure out what ares you excelled and what areas needed little help to improve your position at T-R-S. Figure out your good areas, & improve them through your school work. Your experience can give you some part-time work at UPS or fedEx or one of the other package delivery companies. All package companies provide education assistance/help for you while working for them.
What were you looking to study in college when you graduated high school? Would education have helped you move up or into new areas had you not worked? Were there any promotions you missed on due to your lack of education, not experience? Talk to your manager, before you leave, or make an appointment to see her/him. Ask her/him to review your company experience and get their individual opinion on where you need improvement to achieve better results in your climb up the career ladder. She or he will be able to guide on your path to a better new job and work situation.

Think about what you like to do. If you’re into computers maybe a coding certification, maybe a trade with an apprenticeship, maybe something totally outside the box. Think about who you know, connections you may have to get into an entry level position that offers some advancement. If you’re in a state where tuition is free (it is in NY now from what I understand - two year and some bachelors programs). Think about all these things because what you may be interested in doing may not require college. So it depends. I did my associates and bachelors on line at Kaplan. Then o messed around and went for my masters. I got it, and the damn degree ain’t worth the paper it’s written on because nobody bothered to tell me the landscape of the field I studied changed to where I couldn’t get a job because I am not bilingual. So, just give it some thought because I am in such a huge financial student debt hole I see no way to get out of it. Companies offering tuition reimbursement are also a way to go. Give it a lot of thought and weigh it all out carefully before jumping in. Do your research. All the best to you young man.

For me, college was a big waste of time. I got a full scholarship. It has never done anything for me. If I were you and I could still get Pell Grant and/or the calgrant, I would move to San Francisco and get any job then go to city college (it's free) and pocket the Pell Grant and Cal Grant money. That's what everyone does here. Some industrious scammers I know are "LIFETIME LEARNERS" meaning that they have been in school for like 25 years.....see, it's free here and you get grants so you are actually making money and getting paid to go to school....that's some people's only hustle but most of them parlay their grant money by selling illicit or other merchandise that they buy with their free money that they steal from the taxpayers and homeowners....

I would get a full time job and go to school part time maybe they might have education reimbursement too
So sweet
