As the labor force is being replaced with automation and innovation at an increasing rate, when will be the tipping point where the current model of employment not be sustainable? What plans are in place for the population that will be unemployed? How will we transition over from the old model to the new one? Will there only be so many tech/maintenance positions available and will they number far fewer than the previous positions they replaced? These are questions I find myself thinking about often. It seems like it will be a potentially scary transition for many and happen in this lifetime, at the current rate technology is evolving today.
