Why is it so hard to find a job when you have a felony? I was hired for 3 jobs my background is preventing me from getting a job. Any felony friendly employer's it has nothing to do with theft it is a possession charge 3 years ago but completed rehab.

We have lots of members sharing successes finding a job at UPS, BJs and fast food chains. We also have a Second Chances Resource Center that might be helpful for tips with your search. And please consider following the topic #secondchances to learn about other people's suggestions and experiences.

Companies are like political campaign parties fighting each other to build their name. So first thing you need to do is go down to the courthouse a get a certificate for qualification for employment. Its only like 10$ to process but its worth it cause when they ask do you have any certificates you need that. They just came out with these a few years back and a employer cannot check your background if you provide one of these

Do your research on the company get to know it before you fill out the application and see what they are looking for then take it from there if that will best fit you or not.

Because the world is a cruel and unforgiving place. The world would rather have you fail than to be the reason you succeed! Some felons have a more difficult time starting over again. It's frustrating to the point of what's the point in trying! Every felon friendly place I ever applied turned me down and my felonies were 20 years old. It's just an unfair cruel unjust worldly system is all I can say. People don't think about mercy until they need it. Try to remain emotionally strong and stable. There's help for you somewhere!

Shouldn't be for that difficult with that charge if your applying dirrectely with the companies, for the most part. If companies are using a third party background service that could be the issue, they grade on a small scale and it doesn't take variables into account. Also depends on what type work your applying for, some companies insurance or if bonded may not allow a felony charge at all. Those are limited numbers though. Fast food, resturants, factories most call centers will hire you. side note you might want to look into getting that expunged so it wont flag. just a thought
