Pressure Breaks Pipes
I'm grateful for the work that I do have, however, I am always searching for something better. It's getting hard to be working overtime all the time just to make ends meet. I am eager to get into the field of chemical dependency or to be a peer specialist in the recovery field. I'm finding it to be very challenging with the non stop run ins of people taking full advantage of knowing that you only have a certain amount of time to complete 2500 hours, in most cases they actually try to get me to work for free. Just putting that out there in the event that someone knows of a better plan without discrediting some egotistical male species.

Hi Leslie, Thanks for posting in the community! What sort of jobs are you interested in? Let us know so we can help.
well if you plan on going into the chemical dependency field or peer specialist, you will be doing all kinds of work for free! especially if you are working on a billable hour.. which most jobs in the field are. i work in mental health and i only get paid for the time i am actually with the client because their services are being paid by medicaid or optum. i don't get paid for travel, miles i drive, paperwork. i can work a 40 hour week and only get paid for 15. the only way to make money in the helping field is to be in private practice. if i actually got paid by the hour, i'd be rich. i do this work because i love it and i always have to do something else to supplement and it's very hard!
