Backroom Associate at K Mart

So upset..

I just found out a past employer said I was terminated after I had been putting them down as job experience. I was unloading trucks as a backroom associate. Along with stocking and everything else I could do. Then I was told I had to put my name on products that were coming to our store and train the new people that they hired. All while doing my job. With no pay increase or hours. After being screamed at infront of my coworker doing something my supervisor told me to do. I walked out. I think its terrible you give all you can to an employer and they lie. so upset.

You should have stayed and got the new experience and walking out of a job is job abandonment. Manager experience.

I definitely feel you on that. I've been out of high school for now over 37 years.I've only held 7 different jobs with four of them working two at the same time. I have busted a Tail Feather for every position and have not been appreciated for either one sadly to say. Hang in there it definitely gets better in time.

I had similar experience years ago with a doctor no less! After finding proof that his bad reference was the reason I wasn't getting second interviews, I consulted an attorney. Because the person who got me the proof of the doctors slander couldn't testify without her job being on the line, legal counsel advised me to completely remove that work experience and his name from my work experience on my resume.

Hi Michelle. Sorry to hear of your unfortunate situation. I had a similar situation happen to me. It leaves a bitter taste in your mouth when you're unjustly terminated. Something better lies in store for you as it does for me. Best wishes in your job search.

Hello Michelle I know how you feel but always consult the companies and people you want to use as a reference. Even ask for a reference letter that you can include, this give you an idea of what they may say on a phone call.

It's against the law for an employer to tell another employer anything goes about you only lateness and days off its against the law for employer to say anything else. Call state dept for employment.

I would get an attorney on contingent and file a law suit. You may get a settlement.

Hi Michelle. I hear you on that. I have had several jobs in the healthcare profession) where i know I was good and less skilled employees sabotaged my work and I got terminated because of that. I am a young 64 y.o. retired school nurse who had to take a series of weird jobs to pay certain license fees an such. It was illegal for the past employer to say you were terminated anyways (labor board!!) They can just verufy your dates of employment. We are both going to get the right job.
