Is anyone else having this problem
I am working for a Delivery service as an independent contractor. At the beginning it was great.tips and for part-time. Now people take it for granted that you are just getting their groceries and no tips. Its a online service . Maybe I should make my own pamphlets saying"we are independent contractors" ." we do not work for so and so. Rich people especially don't tip. But blue collar people do. I don't get it.

Hi Daniel. Which service is this for? Something like Instacart? I think it depends on if the program promotes tipping or not. Do those people know that tipping is appreciated with whatever online ordering system they are using? I know Instacart always reminds me to put a tip on there and not give cash, but sometimes I do both. I would ask if that is alright with your current job, but I am guessing customers wouldn't want to feel pressured although I know you want AND deserve a gratuity it might be hard to impose that. It's funny that those who have a lot wouldn't share with others. We are by NO means wealthy, but I always give what I can to those who work hard and deserve it.
