Frustrated

I'm so frustrated with looking for work that I am finding myself frozen, staring at a job description on my computer screen. I'm just not sure what to do. I've sent out so many applications but get no where. I am currently in a job well below my abilities and I just am dumbfounded as to how to dig myself out. So the question, in building my profile, I am not sure what to put in as that catchy opening statement. Especially since I have no desire to stay in my current industry. Advise?

Hi Tammy,

I think you should do a career skills assessment. I did it and it help me focus my job search.

Hi Tammy, I like your friends question. Find out if there are any new skills or qualifications you need for the new industry your considering and start there.

Good question, Tammy. It sounds like you've got a classic case of writer's block. Don't worry about being catchy at first. Just write out what you're looking for, what your hopes are for your career, and the type of employee you are. Once you have that written out, refine what you've put until it's about one or two sentences long. This exercise worked out well for me, so just passing it along!
