I could write a novel about Belk.
Trust no one around you and keep your ears open and your mouth shut. It's all about who can get the most sales. Yes, that's part of the job, but there are such things as what we call a register hog. Belk has what's called sales per hour. If you don't meet that they will drop your pay, and you may not find out til you look at your pay stub. That may be their company policy, but it's not fair. Your pay should be based on how YOU perform as a customer service representative.
Also I would like to point out that in my 7 years there, I saw a huge turnover in management as well as sales floor associates. The manager's are always cracking under the pressure of ridiculous changes. I could go on but you get the drift. I don't recommend working for this company unless it's to gain experience and move on.
Oh and forget overtime. Expect minimal hours.
