Starting Salary is $72,391 per year? For which position? What are the requirements? FACT CHECK!!!

The average starting pay is $21.00/hr. Read average. That's only $43,680/yr. That means that half of all postal jobs begin below $21.00/hr. Sure, this would a great starter job for a high school graduate, but far from the $72,391/yr you mention. The latter amount is the median pay across all postal occupations. No entry-level high school graduate will score that much. I used to be a car salesman; be careful whom you try to befuddle with numbers.

Federal Job Actually a Postal Worker Carrier averages $35-$65k Mail Handler - $33k-$63k Postmaster - Supervisor - $54-$91k

Entry Exam before being Hired

The average U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Salary is $61k and that is not starting out. Each pay rate and position are classified as "Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3.

The benefits are excellent but the pay is not without being in a high stressful and challenging environment with crazy work hours in all 4 seasons and holidays.

I'm not trying to discourage people but working for USPS isn't for everyone. It's hard labor, back breaking and stressful in a tight deadline environment. Don't do it just for the money. Be sure it's something you'll really want to do. If it is, the opportunities for advancement will be available.
