aPHR certification
Hello all, I am preparing for aPHR certification from last few days. I am not able to decide which book I should get. I have ordered fundamentals of human resources by Raymond Noe. Please guide me what else i should read and how should I prepare? Please share your experiences, as how with limited resources one can prepare fully. I have been reading sample questions and study materials online. Thanks in advance.

I truly wish you well in this worthwhile effort! It's a great resource for HR professionals to have!

Also check this website HR.com they have free webinars as well as a wealth of information. My background is in payroll, payroll tax and hr... I've found this site to be helpful.

Check out a master level Human Resources text book from the library and eat the information. The tests are structured with multiple choice questions with four good answers. You will need to understand the information not simple knowledge. That is how I prepared for the PHR. The SPHR I purchased a book from Amazon that provided information and background to each aspect of the test. I would be interested to know why you are choosing PHR versus SHRM-SCP. I have both because of grandfathering and continue to stay aware of law changes and relevant aspects of HR. SHRM provides great resources to other HR professionals. Good luck.

And have you checked the shrm website just like the APA site they may have information on study groups in your area.

I found this self study course that might be helpful: http://www.phrexamprep.com/phrsphr/aphr-self-study-course/

I got the HR Certification Institute Official PHR and SPHR Certification Guide, by Raymond B. Weinberg, SPHR, CCP...I found it to be quite helpful. I actually exhausted all angles...I went to the library and took out every book on HR content, viewed every video on YouTube I could find regarding my areas of weakness like Union Arbitration etc. I also attended a few workshops and seminars...I couldn't afford to go and take the PHR course, so I had to do everything on my own...I also took a few practice exams I found online. Good Luck!
