Wanting to get back into the workforce after not being out there in several years.
I'm finding it very difficult to get employment do to the fact I have taken several years off to be a homemaker. It's very frustrating because I have years of experience in management and Medical Assisting. I also have a college degree in Business Management and Medical Assisting. But being out of the workforce for so long it is very difficult to use my old references and job experiences due to the fact they are from so long ago most of my references are not with the companies any longer and the most difficult thing is trying to fill out applications and trying remember exact dates of which I had worked at certain places. I really wish there were someone out there that would just give me a chance to get my foot in the door so I could prove myself and use my experience and knowledge to be a valuable asset to someone's company.
Pray for help from the Lord Jesus Christ and don't give up persistence is the key

I have a Master of Social Work degree and many years of experience in a variety of human services positions. I retired from full time career work as a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor and allowed my license to lapse because it would cost $500 to renew it and I didn't plan on going back to work in retirement. Subsequently my financial situation changed drastically and I had to go back to work. I did get a job in social work, but at a lesser paying job which circumstances forced me to leave after 5 months. That was 6 months ago and now I can't seems to get anyone to look at me anymore. I am well experienced in the field of substance abuse treatment and am fluently bilingual in English and Spanish.
Lisa, I know exactly what you are saying; been there done that and the age does not help at all. You said you have home making experience, why not sign up with an Agency that specialises in Home Care. You could use them as reference to move forward later.
