I have worked for Aramark / J P Morgan for 20 years. I started as an intern for 6 months than I had to apply at Aramark Temp agency to get paid weekly . On March 6 / 2000 Aramark hired me permanently as a cook / food service / prep . After 30 days probation I became a union member of Local 100. My co-workers noticed how dedicated I was to my position and cared so much for our clients and customers ,they also realized that I am a people person. they ask me to be thier shop steward?, I agreed .so I started making meetings to learned the responsibilities of a shop steward and Aramark policies. Since than Aramark I mayed sure managers , Chefs and employees respects the union contract and policies . We became family. Now that we are going through a National Crisis, family needs each other the most. Aramark had to lay- off some family members and it's ok sometimes things are out of our control. I am one of the family members who got lay- off. The best part is that I am still the shop steward providing info to the others that are also laid off.
