I need to leave this job!!
This is so difficult to handle. I'm a secretary in a Home Health Agency. We're supposed to get paid every two weeks at my job, yet month in month out the pay comes late with no explanation whatsoever. We're always given checks and told to hold on to it because "there's no money in the company account" and the only way to get the pay eventually is to get aggressive. Today is supposed to be pay day but the payroll has not yet been prepared, my time cards are still on my desk. No word, no explanation, nothing! And I'm expected to do my job without any complaints. Other staff members keep calling from the field to know if their checks are ready and being the secretary I have to be the one to pick up the calls and tell them no checks yet, a lot of times I get insulted by some staff because they believe I'm in with the owners on the late/no payment. Sometimes the owners will say "tell them I'm not around" We all have bills to pay, this is crazy! I'm usually not one to work just to pay my bills but honestly I'm just working here in order to pay my bills, I won't bat an eyelid the day I get a new job and walk away. I've been applying for jobs since October yet I've not gotten any, I didn't expect to have been here until now. I desperately need to leave this job!

Okay, my question: What are the instructions from the payroll clerk or manager? Then decide or concur with a new policy. Do you prepare the checks for his/her signature, can you assist with the amounts earned before overtime or not. Think and discuss the matter out loud.
I looked at your resume and besides it is too long what are you skills? You handle check and time cards do you handle bookkeeping? What applications have you been using to keep organized? Summarize your objective to 4 lines of what you can be to another employer? If your the office manager you could make up to $20.00 an hour but your resume should be seen by the unemployment office in your area. I just seen Tokio Marine is looking for a receptionist. Goto Indeed.com and look for jobs that are looking for a secretary. But before you do, have some look over your resume for necessary changes that work with the jobs that your looking for.
