Feeling left out
Hello everyone. I started training for a new job a few weeks ago. I am technically the only minority in the class that involves customer service work. I feel I'm being singled out because I am the only person in the class who was not able to take her work equipment home today as planned. It's really bothering me because no one else in the class is doing that much better than I am with the material and answering people's questions over the phone. One of the instructors told me today that we all have a lot more work to do but again everyone else except for me was able to take their equipment home today. She told me the other day that they felt like I needed more training so they were not going to allow me to take the equipment home as planned. I don't know who made the decision but if everyone else is still in need of more work then why was I not able to take my equipment home just as they were? Maybe I'm being paranoid and yes I do have more learning to do just as everyone else does so I don't feel like anyone else should have been allowed to take their equipment home if I wasn't able to. Some of those have been working on their own or making mistakes but they still allow them to work on their own. They have someone always double jacking with me and they don't really allow me to try to find the answer to the question myself. They will take over either with the conversation or by doing the typing in the navigating and telling me where the solution or the answer is. I don't feel like I'm really being given a chance to do things for myself and try to find the solutions on my own. Just venting I guess.
Yes, being single out is frustrating. I would ask you manager what are the mistakes you are making and how you can improve. Focus on your growth and not so much on everyone else.
