
Want to be a phlebotomist?
Part of the medical assistant program includes training on phlebotomy, but to be hired as a phlebotomist, you have to be certified. It’s also required in most medical setting to have experience with adult and pediatric medicine. Is there anywhere you can get on the job training or free training? Or help with paying for training?

I am a certified phlebotomist. Licensed by the state of California. I also took the national exam issued by MMci-NCCT. They both expire in 2017

You do not need to be certified in most states. Experience is more desirable. 25 years of experience, no certification.
Many hospitals will hire Lab Assistants, which will do phlebotomy and a number of other tasks, and train them on the job.
