Lovin life and my family

I hope I don’t screw this up!!

I just got my CDL and ready to start, but also incredibly nervous I will screw something up. What are some things I should know or do? I could really use some help! Anyone???

Just remember the only ones who don’t make mistakes are this that do nothing. It happens, the key is don’t make the same one twice. Good luck!

You're going to screw up,You're human. Just don't try to be rash and make the problem worse or dangerous.

Don't think like that, you gotta have confidence. If you gonna be out there. You're gonna do the same moves over and over. Practice what you learned in school. Ask questions from other drivers. The old guys with silver hair. They been doing this trade for decades. I learn everything from them.

Take your time, check everything twice before you leave, watch your mirrors and don't wander on the road, it will come to you in a short time. BUT, never take anything for granted, always remember that you're driving something that can kill someone, including yourself, drive sensibly, and get there safe..

Of course you will screw something up.. Not if, but when. Relax, rarely and maybe never does a trucker complete a career without an accident, incident or injury. Just part of the job.. IMBRASE THE SUCK.. If you can get a drop and hook dry van gig. Old Dominion, Estes, ABF, these jobs offer the least amount of work, not always the top pay. Others will be food service; great pay, likely never be overweight, work is extreme by comparison. Flat bed operations; unique enough, great pay, lots of work in addition to driving. (TMC) only flat bed co. I know. Good luck..

Don't worry about screwing up. When I first starting driving 6 years ago I made many mistakes and torn up some stuff. Just take your time and be courteous to other drivers You really learn as you go. There are really good drivers out there who will help you. Backing is the main concern. Just remember to Get Out and Look.

Boy do I know what you are saying.Driving is not as easy as some may think & not as hard as others will claim.Just pay attention to what is going on.Remember your life & the lives of everyone around you depends on what you do & what you know.Take your time & plan out your day.Make sure you take rest breaks. You will see things and wonder what in Gods name is wrong with people. You may hate driving and get all worked up over many of the things that can go wrong.Relax, you invested your time and hard work so just do it and don't take no crap from anyone.Just be your self.If you screw up & you will than just learn from it.Remember we are only Human, hope this helps you out.Best of luck.
