FEELING OVERWHELMED AND FRUSTRATED

Hello everyone. I applied for a carrier job at the usps, did my interviews, background checks, finger print and what have you. Anybody that works for the United states postal service knows how lengthy their hiring can be. Last week I I did the defensive driving text and the lady failed me. All the people I went with passed the driving text but me. This lady did not give me the chance to prove to her that I can do it. They said I'm ineligible for the position i applied for. I called them to ask when I can retake the road text but they said I have to wait for 6 months. Sooooo upset.

My question is if I get called at another facility would they allow me to retake the text again because I have an interview with another location tomorrow and I'm wondering if I should go or cancel it. I don't want to waste my time. Any advice will be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Martha, If an interview for any position is offered do not decline. The goal is to become an employee and transfer if/when positions become available. You can always discuss opportunity for advancement during the interview. Good Luck!!

Getting the letter saying you're hired, is much more of a happier feeling. Why not start in the general operations areas, where you wouldn't have to drive to locations for delivery of mails. Get familiar with the zip codes and make some supervisory friends. Before you know it, 6 months would have gone by and you have freed up yourself to have a optional occupational skill set to also make delivery of mails. I am sure you will pass the driving test by then. You might even be paid at higher level and are able to choose the hours/location for delivery. Or remain and grow in the operational area. Best Wishes! I know I would not want to lose out on any "I'm working for my future and feeling good about it."
