Entry Level Position

It is not really specified what entry level is really quoting about your qualifications. Some position ads quote that they would except entry level qualifications but then tag on a must for a special skill. I am getting more accustomed to seeing this with some wanted ads but then I know that it would probably be some time before I can get to that particular skill. What should I do when I don't poses that special skill and will the employer like for me to just be given the acknowledgment. Should I ask for the intern opportunity? But I don't want to sound insecure about what I want to earn as salary.

Don't let an item/skill mentioned in an ad that you do not have keep you from applying. If you have good basic skills and only lack one or two that are on their list (like experience with a particular software program) still apply. They know they will not find someone with everything they are looking for but if they like you and what you have to offer they will help you acquire the other skills you need to do the job. Don't sell yourself short. In the meantime if you are seeing certain skill requests in ads that you lack, look into taking some classes. EDD offers classes as they want you to be employed and not drawing unemployment.
