Patience

Hi, my name is Jessica-prefer Jessie. It been rollercoaster for me since June, move to Florida from Texas. I moved due to continue medical school where I graduated in Clearwater and new life. I couldn't see myself grow root in Texas. In Florida, since June and today, I got really worries and sick to my stomach where I have went to 17 interview. I really thought that is it, because I'm hearing impaired and speech impairment? I felt hopeless, because that what happen to me in Texas as discriminated. I was about to lose my relationship and my dream to stay in Florida. Almost all my life I have been discriminated, even been foster child of rough childhood, but that doesn't stop me for who I am today. I went from job to job as temporary but it can get depressing time to time pay rate so low compare to Texas is high. My fiance think I was unhappy here, but it not true, I'm only unhappy is I can't support my little family where I can't find a job as career for me. It been 6 month struggle where I couldn't help pay rent with my fiance where doing all by itself and I felt so bad. I know my fiance know I am trying and been patience with me was not easy. I was working seasonal JcPenny for temporary associate and appointment with agency to help me find a job, but didn't get it today. But as today when I got home, I had a voicemail say I got offer position at Florida medical clinic will start in two week! I was so tears and believe that God is testing my patience and I pass my patience exam. My whole point here is....Don't stop searching, keep looking and apply as much as possible. It will come in time after 2 or 3 month waiting. Be honest of who you are and confident. Don't be afraid if you have hearing impaired or any disabilities, because it will show them how honest person you are. It main key they are looking for is honest, and confident and sell yourself. I am only 30, but if you are older, don't let it stop you. Believing yourself will get you there. We all come along way and some how we all deserve to have a good fit and stable job to support your need. I hope y'all have beautiful day. Don't give up

Thank you for sharing Jessie, I think I can relate to what you’ve been going through. I have some friends with the same impairments, but they are some very good people. They don’t let their so called disability hamper them. They don’t consider it a disability at all, because they’re unique in their own way just as you are. So keep your head up high and continue to push forward. You are a conqueror and an example for others. Best wishes for a bright future and may God bless you.
