Pharmacy Manager at Kmart Pharmacy

I got an interview!!!!! Now, what should I wear?

OMG! I am beyond excited...I got an email today setting up an interview for November 6th!!!!! BUT....what should I wear? I don't own a business suit, I'm a pharmacist and usually wear a white lab coat/smock to work. Is it okay to wear a nice dress? or should I splurge and go purchase a suit? Any tips? It's been so long since I have an interview in person....

I think it's ok to wear a nice dress. Just make sure to look professional. Good luck with your interview.

Sometimes I can find a nice blouse and a black pencil skirt and jacket at Goodwill for a small amount of money. The key is to look for quality lables like Harvey Bernard or Ann Taylor. Their clothes fit like a glove. The biggest things for me are good fit and comfort. If you feel good you'll do good. Good luck.

I agree with those that recommend the suit. You can't go wrong with black and you will definitely be able to get plenty of use out of the suit if it has simple lines and classic shape. I also agree that you can find amazing deals at discount retailers like Ross and Marshalls. I found the best Ross ever that carried Tahari, Calvin Klein, and other top brands sold at Macy's. They weren't the current season suits, but I found countless well-made, structured suits by top designers for less than $40. That was my limit because I am short, so I always have to have the pants and jacket sleeves tailored, so that means at least another $30 will be invested in the suit. The only drawback to shopping at Ross and Marshalls is their racks are sometimes A MESS and they often have LONG LINES. But for me, the work was often worth the savings. Good luck!

Whatever you do, do not dress casual. This is s professional position. It’s best to be overdressed than underdressed.

Buy a nice black or grey or tweed sports jacket with a collar shirt and some slacks and shoes and you're fine for the occasion.
