Hello Well look at it like this, you have a job and you have to make the best of it. All you have to do is say your prayers every morning before you go (assuming you believe in God) and ask Him to make the crooked way straight and just be as pleasant as you can be, stay to yourself and mind your own business. Do your work and have a song in your spirit and 8 hours will pass. Are you a current or X felon. That is not who you are, you did what you did, served your time, now you have to rise above that stigma woe is me, no body loves me, everybody hates me, I think I will go eat worms. Things will get better only if you believe in you.

I'm sure your state has a program to help people in your situation. I'd look into that.

Hi Felicia, I heard about this bill called " The Second Chance Act" try Googling this act and see if this leads you to community organizations and leaders in your area, that may assist you to live with the dignity that you are seeking. If you have technical skills, or willing to train in some sort of technical skill; may help you overcome this type of systemic oppression. There is always hope, just have to find that open door. Good Luck. Hope this makes you feel better.

Be happy with what you have right now as long as you are making decent money at it, be lucky you have something. I don't say that because you are a felon, but because I have never been in trouble with the law, except for a traffic violation, and I have been out of work for nearly 3 years!! I am looking and get some interviews, but then the rug is pulled out from under me.....extremely frustrating!!!

Unfortunately your situation isn't unique among other felons. We (society) sometimes give lip service to the term "paid your debt to society". It sounds nice, but what are the chances of an employer hiring a convicted felon if all thing were equal if for a criminal record? I sympathize with you and hopefully employers will open their eyes and become more compassionate to those in your position who only want to become contributing members to society and are looking for a hand UP, not a handout. Stay positive my friend.
