Get a PIP, start packing your bags!
I have been a Pharmacist for 34 years. I recently was terminated because they said I failed by performance improvement program. This was a witch hunt by a company to get rid of an older worker. I fulfilled by job requirements and always have. I had a new supervisor who was brought in as a head hunter. She was firing Pharmacist left and right and bringing in younger Pharmacist from her former company. All I can say is laugh now, I will laugh later, all the way to the bank!
Well they are people with authority and has no back ground experience to see what can happen doing these crazy dismissals in a company
YES THIS IS NOT A LAUGHING MATTER, BUT VERY SERIOUS THAT THOSE UNEXPERIENCED WORKERS PAY MONEY TO GET THEIR POSITION WORK OF YOURS, THANKS
I see a lot of people on here blaming others for their situation. Its hard to have compassion when someone blames EVERYTHING on "witch hunts" "old age" etc. EVERYTHING is SOMEONE ELSES fault ? REALLY?
Go to you local Department of Labor, they look in to these kinds of thing.
So land a job at a competitor and consider it payback that you still have it and the old boss won't benefit from your experience. LOL
Please take note to this response to being terminated. This is the correct attitude. Fuck these tards. Come up with your own plan. Stop relying on employers. Use your skills to make your own money like its been done since the dawn of man. I would have been personally trading with Adam if I could have. If you need more encouragement try this....... You have about 1.5yrs until WW3 STARTS. What do you really want to be doing with that time? time and a half.
If you feel you were wrongly discharged take it up with the federal government in your job service. Also, you might take action with the pharmaceutical board. That should not stop you from seeking work

Yes it happens daily. I was shocked to discover the same things happening to me and you don't have to been very much over 40 to start experiencing it. Most of us have to start new careers, go back and earn different certifications or gain degrees where we can work for ourselves such as in the medical or law field. Otherwise, it is a struggle out here...
Its nothing unusual for many companies to have people come in and get rid of people over 45 and then you're in trouble because others won't hire you. Man its hard. But don't forget to try the Work Centers for your state and counties - I was so surprised that this was here I found the most help with fixing my resume and trying to find me a job. Right before they started to get me into the system, I was called for a Temp assignment which has turned out to be an ok decision because I am gaining a new skill. The pay is very very low only a few hundred every week but with God's help I am making it work and stretching my retirement savings. They have extended my assignment 4 times and now I was just told they will be doing it again but the permanent Accounting person will be out longer from her surgery. Its not a job but I am gaining a whole lot of difference experience from my previous finance and budget area, now i'm in accounting. So Once I finish here next month I will go back to the unemployment work center with new skills and this will help me find a job.
Be sure to do the same, go to the Work Centers for Unemployment, collect your unemployment for as long as you can because you were terminated and also go on online job sites like Monster and Indeed and apply apply apply because they can never take your skills. And also go to the Temp Agencies for the medical field. The blessing is that you are very blessed because you have marketable skills and experience. They can not stop you, just recognize that as long as you put God first, ask him for help, let him guide your steps, pray and move, pray and move, things will turn around. You're hearing from someone who lost everything and although I am not fully back I am not defeated or where I was because of God's help. Best of Luck Mary
YOU WORKED IN THAT FIELD FOR 34 YEARS! YOU SHOULD KNOW PEOPLE AND HOW THAT FIELD WORKS RIGHT? 34 YEARS YOU CAN WRITE YOUR OWN TICKET WHY YOU LET A YOUNGSTER COME A UPSET YOU OR GET TO YOU? YOU PROBABLY HAVE BEEN DOING PIP FOR AS LONG AS SHE HAS BEEN ON EARTH RIGHT? I WAS IN RETAIL SINCE 1979 I COULD TELL YOU WHERE THIS MERCHANDISE GOES, WHAT THE BEST ITEMS TO PUT ON SALE FOR EACH SEASON. A YOUNG SUPERVISOR CAME UP TO ME ONCE AND MOVE ME TO "HEALTH AND BEAUTY" I.E. MAXI PADS, MAKE UP, HAIR TINTING AND OTHER FEMALE PRODUCTS. THAT NEXT QUARTER I WAS THE BEST SALES PERSON FOR THAT QUARTER $250,000 OF FEMININE PRODUCTS, LOTIONS, BODY WASH ETC. YOU KNOW WHAT THE STORE MANAGER DID? MADE ME EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER (3) MONTH A $1,000 DOLLAR BONUS AND MANAGER OF "HEALTH AND BEAUTY, KITCHEN WARES AND BATHROOM AND TOILETRIES". OH! I GOT A RAISE ALSO 2005 TO 2010! NOW I'M "CUSTOMER SERVICE REP FOR A "SPORTS MANAGEMENT GROUP"! MAKING DOUBLE THE SALARY THERE. I GO BACK TO THAT STORE FROM TIME TO TIME AND THE STORE MANAGER HAS MOVED ON, I MOVED ON AND GUESS WHO IS STILL THERE THAT SAME GUY BUY NOW HE IS BALD. YOU SEE BEFORE I GOT THAT JOB I HAD MY DEGREE "SOCIAL WORK", TRAINING IN MACHINE TOOL TECH AND INVENTORY/MERCHANDISING. I KNEW "PUSHING FREIGHT, DROP THE MERCHANDISE AND FRONTING THE SHELVES" BEFORE THEY KNEW. WHAT I'M SAYING IS THAT "YOU KNOW EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT "PIP" GO AND TEACH OTHERS. OR START YOUR OWN "PIP" BUSINESS. A "PIP"? YOU SHOULD BE TEACHING AND TRAINING NEW STAFF. COME ON MAN! 34 YEARS? TAKE CONTROL!
