YIKES!! I charged her $5,000!
My first job was at Dollar General. This job taught me how to work a cash register and what it was like to work in a busy store. Our store was one of the only things around where I grew up so it was pretty happening. My manager Gina was amazing and so kind to me. One time I rang something in for $5,000 instead of $5, eeek!! The woman's face was not a happy one, haha. I thought for sure I was fired, but my manager just simply corrected the error and helped calm me down. I was a pretty nervous kid. Dollar General for me was a very supportive environment. Would probably be good for someone's first job if they like people.

That can easily be fixed without causing a panic. Managers are always there to help. Next time if that ever happens again. Don't hesitate to ask for help from your manager. That happens all the time.

Everyone makes mistakes, it's how you move past them that counts. Also, no one ever learned anything from being perfect ; ) Thanks for sharing your story, Louise!

As a manager in retail for over 26 years, employees make mistakes on a daily bases. We are human and make errors, as a boss we need to understand this and help employees out , especially new ones.

It's good you had a kind manager. A boss can really make or break a job.

That could happen to anyone even someone with experience. We are all human and make mistakes. Don't sweat it.
