What does it take to become a Sales?

Know the products your selling

Be willing to go outside your comfort zone at times to appeal to your customers needs that may be reaching at times. To be ready to be first one in, last one out...for every person that walks through your door.... reputations are key and you represent the store and so that reputation is what builds the brand and gets you noticed.. and then customers come to you first when they trust you

You need to establish a great rapport and trust with every customer. Then, qualify their current and future needs. Be a consultant and advisor to your clientele!

To do really goòd at sales, I should know, I've bèen 100 percent commosion only for over 35 years. Knowing your products and services, as well as your compeditors iss good. But to excel, your customers have to ttrust you above all others. Worst thing u can do is act like a car salesman and use high pressure. I once had a customer it tookover 7 years to close the deal. I never let a manager try and push me to close a deal before customer was ready. I have remained friends with most of my customers over years. I never lied to them and I took care of every concern they ever had.

You have to have a short memory. You cannot let someone telling you no discourage you. You have to throw alot of things at a wall before they start to stick. You might hear alot of no's before you get a yes. Be persistent and consistent. Under promise and over deliver

If you're cold calling, find out the name of the owner,or buyer first. Too do this go up to someone that works there and say hi you must be the boss , they will be flattered and say ohh no not me ( with a big smile on their face) and say that's him or her over there. Then say that's right his name is chose any name, then they will actually tell you the name of the person. I used to use this in my 30+ years of sales...

When you right a contract and receive a form of payment with the customer signature

Couldn't have said it better.

A good listener
Under promise and over deliver is one that I will echo. I would add, focus on becoming a solution seller. If the product your selling solves somebody's problem. Whether their is problem wanting a new car or a new computer programmer or whatever it may be. Make them your next customer. If what your selling doesn't solve their problem cordially stop talking and move on to the next.
