Medical Sales Rep

I applied to hundreds of jobs in the last couple of weeks, had been looking for a job for months. Finally got a couple of interviews lined up in December, had an offer from a job which was mediocre and felt wasn’t the one, and another job offer from an amazing Tech Company through a temp agency. The manager at the tech company loved me and told me I got the job right away and said I would start in January. The job would be temp to perm with a great possibility of working permanent. So I turned down the other job offer, gave my two weeks, signed all my paper work including offer letter, and passed a drug screen. The last and final step was submitting my I9 with a form of an ID. The temp agency kept pushing my start date because of the government shut down my I9 wouldn’t be able to be verified, knowing other companies were hiring employees with Everify. I patiently waited, and today I get a phone call from the temp agency recruiter saying the manager who interviewed me got fired and that no one is working in that department, also because of the government shut down the manger didn’t tell the agency they actually do bids with the government. I am so frustrated because I gave my two weeks and turned down another offer, now I have to go back to keep applying and going to other interviews. Sorry just venting I know things could be worst hope everyone is having a great day.

It's easy to let all the hard time ware us down but it take real courage to persevere through all of it. We just need to keep our eyes on the hope that what's ahead is much more fruitful. Don't let the enemy steal your joy. Keep your eyes on the one who created you. And everything will be okay.

One thing to remember about temp to perm positions, is that the majority of the time they are temp. I have heard the temp to perm speel, and given up another position that said temp only, but would run longer, and had the potential to extend. So I went for the temp to perm, and lost money i could have made at the other job. Also lost out on a position I had that I could have kept for another 6 months, that was less per hour, but was a guaranteed 40 hour work week, for one that was more per hour, but dropped to part time after 2 months. So less money, and was stuck at the job because I signed a contract. And the agency that placed me for that job said they would have PLENTY of opportunities available if I stuck it out. Guess what, stick it out, and there were no other opportunities.

The thing to remember is temp agencies are working for the client. You are not the client. And they will lie, and lead you on if the client wants them to. They have a purpose, just don't think they have your best interest at heart first. It is all about the client. You have to look out for you.

You might be able to qualify for unemployment, if you can't get your other job back. And along that front, if you are able to say you were leaving the company to take a position in another town, or state, do that in the event you need to fall back on them. Then you can always say you ran into an issue with housing, or other expenses to try and relocate.

Beat of luck in 2019. Don'tget frustrated, January and February are bad months to be unemployed in. Things pick up in March. May be later with the Govt shut down.
