Warehouse Associate
I am desperately wanting to change from warehouse experience to office I.E. data entry, assistant. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get a Hiring Manager to give me a chance? I am pursuing my master's degree in business administration and would like to use my work experience and education to transition from a warehouse assistant.

Hello Jobcasers, I found a Administrative position with a moving company, I'm so excited just getting my foot in the door is a blessing. Thank you all for your encouragement, this is a small company so I don't see any growth potential but I'm out of the warehouse and the physical demands and pushing toward my goal to use my work experience and continuing education in business administration.

How do you get a Hiring manager to give you a chance, is a whole separate issue! But there are jobs in a warehouse office, sort of like office manager/warehouse that dabbles into many different worlds. It's a matter of you applying to those particular positions.

If there are any administrative duties that currently exist in your present position in the warehouse, you should take every opportunity to do them. In any event make sure you keyboarding skills good and improving. Also request that the warehouse manager allow you to do the administrative duties as they come available. How about putting an application in for a business position at the company that you work for, along with a referral from your supervisor..
If you're in California, I might be able to help. One of my former shipmates is an HR manager.
I'll see what she can do, but you'd need to be fairly specific about the kind data entry you mean. Saying "Data Entry" is like saying "Electronics". The more specific you are, the better your chances of getting a foot in the door.
I'll talk to Clark and see what I can do on my end. Good luck, and let me know what kind of work and where you're looking.
