Please can someone answer this question, What does your Credit has to do with getting a job.

If you do not have good credit - it means you do not have a good character !!! It might sound unreasonable but in order to get a car loan, or house loan or borrow for anything good credit bails you out of a pickle. If you have good credit it means you bothered a whole lot to protect your name and reputation and that you made your payments on credit cards, etc on time. These character traits speaks volumes about the person they are about to hire. In America you can get a job anywhere so apply somewhere else and once you get the job - fix your credit because good credit will make you wealthy and get you loans where ever you apply and bad credit will always make you pay more for everything you want to buy. You can get a good job, etc if you have good credit. Get in touch with Lexington Law and they will help you fix your credit and help you achieve a good credit score - they helped me fix my credit as there were a lot of mistakes or wrong things messing up my credit hence giving me a bad credit score even though I was not worthy of it. I hope that was helpful. With good credit a brand new car could cost 200 a month and with bad credit the same car could cost you 450 a month. Please choose to have good credit for your own sake - thats all I can advise you. Take pains to maintain a good credit score. Get education and get RICH OK?

They do that to check if you're responsible, and to see if youre a liability to the company.

I wish I knew. My credit sucks, maybe it has to do with how stable and responsible you are financially. If this is the case I am not going to find work any time soon. My credit is horrible.

Mike, exactley! It's fucking rediculous. ever since the economy crashed back in 2008 they made it even harder 4 Average Joes and blue collar Working Class People to get jobs X checking your credit report and doing being more strict on background checks even for media and shitity jobs. they want people to get off unemployment butt they want to do stupid s*** like do credit checksthis is the kind of president that we need one who fixes stuff like this! Alan Kohr

I do not no is you look for a job do not Madison

Personally I think it depends on the job. Not everyone has credit. This is usually why after high school, they tell you to get a credit card, use it and pay it off every month to build your credit. I didn't start building credit until I was 20 years old. I have a brother with terrible credit yet has a decent paying job. My uncle had to cosign on his car because of his bad credit and he couldn't buy his house in his name, his wife did because of bad credit. He was always late on bills yet still has a decent job. I'm going with it depends on the job being applied for. I never had credit with my first job. My cousin has five kids, no credit and owes tons of child support, has been in and out of jail for not paying it but McDonald's still hired him.

That's how most jobs determine if you're a reliable employee

Nothing, it's a new form of decrimination, racism. If you have credit problems it's normally blacks, Mexican etc.

It is a tool that some employer uses to assess potential employee, to see the financial status of the emplyee it can be use to determine if the employee is a potential risk or liability for the job.
I'm confused at this as well because, my credit has nothing to do with me performing a job. So, people with excellent credit does an excellent job. How does that match up? People with excellent credit just pay their bills!
