I received my training on the job. I applied to entry level jobs to start, then after getting some experience I applied to better jobs. Good luck. I'm sending prayers your way.

I agree with Leira. Training is on the job for how and what they want. The important thing is to be friendly and helpful. If you are interviewing, just seem friendly, interested in their company and show that you want to help people.

As a receptionist you want to be a very warm individual, in heart, soul and mind. Everyone that calls or come into your place of work must feel that you see and hear them and that they feel appreciated in bringing you their business. You're using your soft and hard skills to serve them. There is a lot to making your customers feel confident in your abilities in doing your job.

If you want to take a class I am sure some community colleges may offer a two week course in handling a switchboard phone, filing, taking copies and data entry. I can say if you have a very kind and compassionate personality you're very much on your way to being a business receptionist. Check for classes also at your local library

I went through a temp agency as well. My previous job helped me with answering phones and dealing with customers and how to write emails and such. I learned excel online with tutorials.

I never had training you just have to understand excel, be charismatic and confident and be willing to answer phones and write emails

I would recommend a job as a dental Receptionist. There are some dental offices that don't require experience and will train you. That's how I got my start. It's also good to have computer skills and have a clear speaking voice. Good Luck!

Well it all starts with any retail service! That’s where I started. If you have that down packed, just apply for a position somewhere that has hiring without experience at like a call service and they will train you!
