Sad days ahead
I know what you mean my 12 years working for toys r us is coming to an end. I don't know what to do, I pay my bills by myself and I have 3 boys.. it is really hard to swallow when you have, been working for a great company that brought so much joy to children's faces that the people you work with are not just co workers they are family.. and we all have been so loyal to toys r us it's going to be really hard to say goodbye..

When I heard about Toys R Us going out of business and then as I have been talking to people who have worked for them, one for 23 years, and how they are being treated I was dismayed. My understanding that there was no assistance at all in helping people to find other jobs. Fortunately here in North Central Pennsylvania there are a number of factory positions and there are a number of hospitals looking for people. Not sure where you live Debbie, but you might want to go to your local Career Link and see if you can take an aptitude and interest test. Or go on-line and look up Holland Code Quiz. It will help you get an idea of what positions to look for that suit your personality and pocketbook. Wishing you a blessed transition.

Don't wait until it ends to start looking! People / employers may be more likely to see what is happening to you maybe hire you from the heart? Its worth a try. Best time to look for a job is when you have a job. I was with a company 32 yrs, cut and dry! Pray!

I found a new job after 3 weeks of looking and interviews I work now on Hollywood beach and still work for toys r us until they close...

What a great run with Toys R Us and I bet tons of experience in different areas that build your skill set more than you realize. What are you looking for?

12 yrs with the company I been with and now looking for Job. 2 kids with no child support yet it's a challenge but I will keeping searching for job. Prayers

I also saw that someone was looking to buy the franchise as well. Sending one up for you. I have been enjoying this place and everyone sticking together and supporting one another. I feel it is important. I am still declaring that 2018 will be a year of restoration for many who have been struggling for so long. God bless you all.❤

Looks like some billionaire is trying to buy Toys - so you may not be out of a job. Cheer up!

Look into posting your resume on Monster.com or Manpower. Start with a good clear resume and get your references in order. You should consider "contracting" until you have a firm job offer. Revise your resume to fit the job description. Call your EDD office to verify the amount of unemployment insurance that is available to you. Hope that helps.

Goodbyes are the worst : ( Just know that you were apart of something great and no one can ever take that away from you! Keep applying and stay positive. Please feel free to message me if you need anything! Our thoughts are with you Debbie.
No company should be able to go out of business without a resource for the fellow employees, dedication and loyalty should make a difference. All the employees from all over the world should get together and find an advocate that can represent the employees and you all should start emailing and writing letter to the CEO of Toy R Us for help, because I don't believe this company is doing nothing for employees that has dedicated many years of their lives to this company, Good luck!!!
