Fired for theft i didnt do....
Last week I was fired from a company that I was with for almost 10 years. They said I was stealing, which I would never do, especially from a company that I was with for so long. The only proof they had were pictures of items they said I was trying to steal. I know my side of the story, yet, my new store director didn't listen!! There is NOTHING on video of me taking, or trying to take, said items out of the store. I'm now trying to get ahold of corporate, just to Clear my name. All of this is ridiculous and I'm at a loss. I was labeled a thief, and it's just not right. They didn't follow company rules, never "investigated" anything, or do what they were supposed to do in something like this. I feel like it was a setup. Unfortunately, there are no video cameras in our backroom. So, it's my word against them. I'm just annoyed by all of this. They also fired 4 other full time people before me, all within a week. Something isn't right here....

I strongly suggest that you go the Unemployment. The company has the burden of proving that you violated company policy and if they are not pressing charges on you or any of the others I assure you, you will be approved for your Unemployment Insurance. That is also proof for future jobs that you were found to be wrongfully terminated. Even in a Right To Work state they will still have to pay you. I went through the exact same thing 9 years ago

I have the same story, 1 year probation, $500 fine. If I had $3500 for a lawyer I probably wouldn't have become a felon. I still don't know what I stole

Now thats messed up.

Kstie your right they need a better investigation system and im good at it just see what happened on the camera

Document all information about what happen, your side, their side, and anything else you can think is pertinent. Then if you get to have your say you have this information to back you up. I do think something bad is going on and you just got pulled into it. I'm really sorry you have to through this. Hang in there and fight.

Sounds like for whatever reason they wanted to fire you & didn't have reason so they made ignore up.. Don't want to pay unemployment... I doubt that's going to work.. no proof & too many companies are doing it to their older employees... Some companies just don't appreciate good help.

Katie if you have contact with any and or all of the people fired you may want to see what they where fire for. I may be a class action lawsuit situation. For working with unions more people that stand up for injustice the louder it's heard. There are plenty of lawyers out there that would love a class action lawsuit because there's more evidence of wrong doing. But first write down your story and and any details you remember from the names of the people during you being fired to if you felt threatened everything so you don't forget details and I would suggest you tell everyone else the same thing...

Dont give up

Something's fishy sounds like most company's fire the older in employees to get new ones with lower pay
Stop worrying,, stop talking to everyone about it, that could cause you troubles, go get the best lawyer you can get and follow their advice henceforth. Good luck.
