Certification has lapsed
My certification has lasped in since the 1990s, will it be hard to get recertified as a CNA

Just call the board of Nursing tell them you old certification # Usually all you will have to do is take the hands on test again. Not the written or have to repeat the whole class again.

Go to your free training school and ask someone at the front desk.Get it over with, start making money and get back into the field .Wasting time wondering about the cost ,when here in Rochester N.y it's free .The Goverment has all kinds of free programs out here .Check with your adult continuing education programs .

It depends on what type of certificate it was you'll probably have to do everything over again that what I had to do

Depending on your state you will have to take course again

Have to go through the class again.i went through the same thing

You're gonna need check stubs verifying that you've worked from 90's-present, if u don't have it, you'll have to retake course. I'm dealing with the same issie

you need to get re-trained. as a welder if we don't strike an arc in 6 months then our certs are outdated. and there is a reason for that. you don't do it ya get rusty... I would think when you are dealing with human life in the medical fields then you would want to be up to date on everything, especially after that many years... right?

To Sheree;. Hi, I'm Eugene.I got my CNA certification in 1982.This was in the state of Washington.Typically to the best of my knowledge. You don't need recertification. If any certification needed, would be a current cpr refresher.CNA certifications, don't expire.Good LUCK.
I was nationally certified through NCCT as an MA, then I moved to Cali, and couldn't get a job since California doesn't recognize NCCT's certification. I'm now attending BC as a nursing major. Check the certification board to see what it would take to get recertified.
