Feeling Discouraged

I’m feeling extremely discouraged about my job searching right now. I’ve applied to a lot of different places, but haven’t received a call back from any of them. I’m doing okay at my current job, but upper management made a lot of promises in my interview they’re not following through with right now and it’s causing some problems at home. I also called one of the places I put in an application for and they said they discarded my application because I can’t work nights, even though I explained I could close Friday, Saturday, and Sunday because I have night classes Monday through Thursday. I guess I just need to know everything will turn out all right.

If your not receiving calls check over your resume ask friends for advice on it.

Everything will be okay. Persistence pays off. I would just keep applying until someone says yes. Good Luck!

Tiffany, as you can see there are many individuals offering encouragement for you, and I hope this gives you some relief in knowing that some are in the same place as you, and that you are not alone in this and also, that this site is a great resource. Your situation will turn out alright, so hang in there.

I can give you a little reassurance Tiffany! Things will work out. I am in the same boat as quite a few of us Jobcasers are. It does in fact get frustrating and discouraging, but in the midst of all this internal turmoil we need to find the strength to keep a positive attitude. Keeping a PMA is for our own benefit. Best wishes.

My advice to you is stay at your current job, over-achieve, be relentless at completing your tasks, use it as a resource to practice and acquire skills necessary for a move up. "Keep your eye on the prize.". Be confident in yourself, and you will succeed.
