Since when is being a "doer" a negative?
I am a proud "doer" and also a savvy problem solver and program builder. It seems, recently, that common wisdom about the label "doer" is that they are cog-in-the-wheel, lower value individuals who must be managed by higher value management "strategic thinkers". I maintain that the best employees are primarily doer-leaders, whom others see as able to lead by example. I would rather be, and work as parts of doer-leader teams. Leadership and "Doership"?should not be mutually exclusive terms.

I totally agree with you, Pamela! Being a "doer" I think is really important.
