How can I get a job as a Medical Assistant without my certification? I take my test on the 27th of April

It would not let me post another comment but I am the one who posted they would rather train you their way. From experience I was an Office Manager for an Internist for 10 years and we did this all the time!

Believe it or not most physicians will hire someone with no experience so they can train them the way the want things done in their office their way! Try it!! You'll see

Sometimes it's not the certification, it's the experience.

Hi Janiece: As long as you have a Diploma from your school you will be fine, just let your future employer know you will be taking the test at the end of April. You can also try temp agencies in your area to get some hands on experience in the meantime. Take a look at this one, https://www.maximstaffing.com/allied/search/jobs-in-Maryland.html

I'm in the same boat, I have to schedule my test date. Most people who have been hired, have already been certified. There's like 50 to 100 or more people applying for the same positions.

Alot of Medical facilities will accept you without the certification, but some want you to just have a Diploma. Sometimes it depends on how much experience you have as well. Good Luck with your State Boards!!!! :)
As long as you can prove when you take your certification exam you'll be fine. Employers can hire you pending your certification just remember that you will need written proof of when you take your exam. Also as soon as you get your certification your employer will need a copy to put on file per your state law. GOOD LUCK!!! be sure to let everyone know how you did.
