Organized, quick to respond, time conscious, realistic expectations, understand that you need to set boundaries you can’t let people take advantage of your life, learn your limitations and be honest if you are not comfortable with a situation, advocate for you self and above all be flexible don’t stress about things beyond your control or pay level.

Professionalism, good telephone skills, organization, ability to multi-task, initiative, being genuine, people skills, and having a desire to learn and succeed no matter how menial the task

To meet and greet the public, to answer the telephone correctly, have experience in an office atmosphere , be friendly

First of all you must have college education along with experience. Most companies now require you to have at least some college to be able to perform the duties necessary. Taking some college courses in office administration will help and give you a leg up.

I think what makes a great assistant administrator is having the office skills necessary to be proficient but also having he ability to recognize needs and then implement the actions necessary to achieve them. I think being a team player with a positive attitude should be inherent, as well as having a solid work ethic, being responsible and going the extra mile when necessary to achieve your goal.

An Administrative Assistant should have basic experience and skills, at a minimum, in an office setting. The desire to help and be of service combined with a drive to learn, are immeasurable. Good luck!

Well it all depends. If you have a degree in Admin and one have about 3 years working experience . Must also be an organized individual.

Organization and mind reading . . . Organization and a "ticker" file are your keys to maintaining control. You probably will need to be able to switch gears quickly and become a "jack of all trades" and technology. A lot depends on the industry you would be working in. Usually ask for Assoc. degree in business but work experience could qualify you as well.

The Administrative Assistant should be capable of running an office to accommodate the Executive and be comfortable to act on her or his behalf in situations that don’t require a unique licence or expertise or be able to set the stage to accommodate an equal replacement whenever the Executive is unavailable.
It requires that you learn the ins and outs of the office and be at ease to answer questions on behalf of the executive and even be able to own certain problems so that the office continues to run effectively and smoothly.
