They tried to tell me no!
I am a woman and drive a truck for a living, but I hate it when people look at me after I say what I do and tell me…..but you’re so small!!! I mean, what does that matter!? Or worse when I am standin next to my truck and people ask me where my man is. HA! I don’t have time for one.
I am a single mom and after taking care of my kid I went back to work. I had never driven a truck before in my life and thought why not the money is good and if I hated it I’d quit. Here I am 3 years later even when they said I couldn't. No one in this world should ever tell you that you can’t do somethin.
Any other female truckers out there? Please say hello!!

Wait until you put in 49 years, lot different now

Hello! Solo and lovin it..going on 4 years..Jesus bless you!!

Hey, here is a confidence builder or in your case, the reality of respect for you. I personally know a lady that gets a lot of respect doing about the same as you, she is a grandmother and at 67 drives semi grain trucks & field combines, heavy farm tractors, and other farm equipment, drives a school bus and still makes large meals with help from & for the family, and does not care if others have an opinion. She would always say life gets busy enough to prioritize your thinking as to what you do, so not much time for nonsense.!!!!

To begin I think you are the one that is trying to show off me 30 years behind the wheel zero accidents in a year or two maybe 5 years from now you could join the real team they call us truckers,,not truck drivers and yes for me you are welcome,,,

It's amazing how short sighted men are. I'm in an unnecessarily male-dominated field and they all shut up when I ask them to elaborate why they think that as a woman I'm less likely to be good at my job. They don't have a reason other than they think this area is "theirs" and women "belong in the home."
You show them.

Good for your , good woman

Tell them where to go.

I have trained two female drivers so far, and they are just as capable as any man.

You go girl keep up the good work dont let no one take it away be safe!!!
Carolyn, you're great! When they see you next to that big il' ruck they can't believe that you can do it. It's just shock and awe. Don't let it bug you. But, PLEASE, keep up all the little things that make you a remarkable woman. Who knows, maybe some of these male drivers will start bathing regularly and dressing decent enough to hope to impress you. You already impressed me. Keep on truckin'.
