The “Toys R Us Kid” Lives On In All Of Us
The spirit of the “Toys R Us kid” lives on and it will continue to uplift us all.
Remember the jingle? “I don’t wanna grow up, I’m a Toys R Us kid!” Well, we can’t all be Peter Pan – we’ve all grown up, and from what we’ve seen over the last couple of weeks, TRU employees have grown up to be resilient, respectable, capable, hard-working adults.
Here’s an inspiring snippet of a post by Kevin from last week: “I worked at my Toys R Us store for two years as a sales associate. I had a good paycheck and benefits and now those things are ending. I have been looking for work and you need to do it too. Yeah we are sad, but when you lose your job you gotta just keep going...Toys R Us is gone, but we aren’t.”
Yes, Toys R Us employees are facing a great deal of tumult right now, but we’re moved by their resilience in the face of such adversity, and also by the outpouring of support that fellow Jobcasers have been offering up. Keep it coming.
