The biggest mistake I made as a #Bartender at #MakahaResort ...
I have thought about this question a lot and I couldn't think of any big mistakes. However, that.doesn't mean I didn't make mistakes, but they were always easily correctable. Occasionally, I may of been distracted and made the wrong drink for a waitresses order or the kitchen may of made the wrong appetizers and I served them without realizing it, but the guest let me know, the kitchen would expedite the order I would apologize very much and the guests always were so nice and forgiving. I never had a guest leave mad or disappointed . All mistakes whether big or small can be overcome it's all in the way it's handled. Your attitude will ultimately determine the outcome of the mistake. Frankly it can be forgotten by the guest within a short period of time if you are kind, courteous, apologetic and attentive. Kindness and laughter can basically solve whatever the problem is.

Love this, Elisa!! Such a great outlook to have.
We are all flawed human beings, trying our best to do right by people and do a good job. Most people will see that and forgive us when things go wrong, which, inexplicably, they will eventually. The important thing is how we deal with our mistakes. Own it, apologize and try to move forward in the kindest and most loving or respectful way possible. Treat people how you would want to be treated. People will admire and appreciate you being forthright and honest. Life is too short to behave otherwise...everything (whether people believe it or not) leaves a lasting impression somewhere. Leaving a good one sets us up for being able to live with our past mistakes.
