How Do I Eat?

Recently graduated from CDL school and ready to hit the road but something I’ve noticed is that my sleeper doesn’t have a refrigerator, and rest stop food is real nasty. Any tips for bringing food or ways to make food on the road? Something simple. I don’t want to gain too much weight on the road. Please share your ideas

Electric cooler for perishables. Small microwave, crock pot, and/or electric skillet. These should handle most of your needs. They also have tiny grills if you like to cook out.

We lived on the road. To keep things dry get a plug in cooler and a insta pot. It will cook anything quick. Also a very small grill for rest area layovers. But the insta pot is priceless and sealed to cook while driving but will need a a power inverter. There's some small crock pots you can plug in. If they will let you put in a power inverter it's a rolling apt with microwave and everything. Don't skimp on power get like a 3000 watt no need buying it if it's not big enough

My cardiologist said the best diet for anyone is :
Reduce your sodium and animal fat intake, eat whole grains (less refined carbs), try to eat things in their most natural state (i.e. not as many prepackaged or fast foods), eat plenty of green, red and orange vegetables (not corn or potatoes)., exercise (aerobics 3x week or yoga plus light weight lifting). That’s it. No fad diets (keto). And you can occasionally treat yourself with alcohol or sweets. Nothing is off-limits - no one is perfect- just eat the way you know you’re supposed to most of the time.

what you can do is buy a refridge for your truck that you could put some food in but you will have to work at keeping your weight down if you vdon't find ways to exercise on breaks ]

Do you have an outlet like the ones for cigarettes? If so, then you can purchase a small unit that plugs in to those outlets.

One thing i like to make real fast is HOMESTYLE TRUCKER CHICKEN SOUP... Get box of minute rice, can of chicken, and chicken broth. Add chicken broth accordingly to taste with water. Boil rice in it, then add chicken. Its actually very good. Add your seasonings n you got soup. Or buy one those roasted chickens at walmart but you have no fridge.. Get yourself lil ice chest n zip lock baggies. Just drain the water every hour or 2..
