The best next step practice is to follow-up with a Thank you letter immediately after the interview. This shows your level of gratitude and professionalism while at the same time solidify your interest in the job opportunity. A call or email (7-10) days after the interview date is also an acceptable protocol as long as the job description doesn't have a closing date.
