Made to much money
I was making a lot of money at my previous job. I had worked their for 20 years as a manager and got laid off. I have only had 4 jobs in my life. Question don’t know what to put down when they ask about previous salary. This was an oilfield job.

Hi Kevin Romey - I don't think you made too much money. Companies ask how much you made before so they can get an idea of your worth.
Answer the question honestly. If you feel like the pay for the jobs you are applying to now pay less, add a note that says you are okay with a paycut to gain experience in their company and looking forward to the opportunity for professional growth.
