Assessment Test
I've been unemployed for six months now, I'm a single mother with two children and we homeless. I been putting in several applications and a few has a assessment test at the end of the application process. But for some reason I can't pass the assessment test for nothing. The jobs I apply for I know I'm qualified for and have the skills to do the job. And do it well. My question is why does the assessment test determine rather you qualify for the job or not? From my understanding all it's asking is for your honest opinion on how you handle things. So I understand on how I don't pass. Why is it relevant for someone to take assessment test. Your resume and skills and qualifications should determine that right? It just a question?

Ms. Smiley, hi there..... You need to look laterally for work. See police, fire, ambulance service information and dispatch.... Public transportation routing are ALL IT and information Networking positions. I think that when we shop for employment opportunities we need to look left and right. Lets use my first chosen profession of Social Work........ CPS, APS, Court Services, or Foster Care are all TRADITIONAL positions that we look for after graduation. But Hospital Social Worker, Group Home Support Counselor, At RISK Community Counselor are all lateral moves. I just happened to get lucky with Florida Dept. of Family Services and get picked up the first application that I put in, but I was ready and prepared for Kidney and Dialysis or Home Health Care Social Work. They pay less, but it's still human services. So look laterally for your profession. You might get lucky.

The assessment test for these types of jobs, Walmart etc, are supposed to measure what type of employee you might be. Not your skills or ability to do the job but your ethics. Personally I find the tests to be rather silly but if you are truly failing every single one, you may need to get some coaching from someone who knows you personally. Maybe they can pinpoint why you're failing.

if you are homeless have you considered jobs such as wal-mart, fast food joints etc they tend to hire on the spot especially since u have kids to tend too. Do you not have any family that u all can stay with and that will help u until you are able to find something stable as income? Do you have your unemployment money if not please to apply for it.
I've tried to respond twice to ur situation..in shortcuz, I'm tired of doing this now.. when you come to those difficult questions put yourself in a manager's position or supervisors position like your a boss then answer the question you feel me??
